Alhamdulillah, our recent ice skating event in Braunschweig was nothing short of spectacular, truly a memorable finale to our first year’s activities with the Muslimische Hochschulgemeinde. The excitement was palpable as we gathered early in the morning, spirits high, ready for the adventure ahead. Our journey began with a peaceful train ride, setting the tone for a day filled with camaraderie and joy.
Our first stop was the mosque in downtown Braunschweig, where we collectively performed Duhur and Asr prayers. This spiritual pause amidst our travels was a beautiful reminder of our unity and purpose. The mosque visit not only offered us a moment of reflection but also served as a warm welcome to the city.
Following our prayers, we embarked on a captivating tour of Braunschweig. The city revealed its charm and history, enchanting us at every turn. But the true highlight of our day was the ice skating. Gliding on the ice, laughter echoing under the crisp winter sky, we shared moments of joy and friendly challenges. For many, it was a first-time experience, making it all the more special.
Though the cold nipped at our noses, our hearts were warm. The day wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Christmas market. Amidst the festive lights and seasonal treats, we indulged in the holiday spirit, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
As the evening drew to a close, we boarded the train back home, carrying with us the joy and fellowship of the day. Every moment, from the serene prayers at the mosque to the exhilarating laps around the ice rink, and the festive cheer of the Christmas market, was a testament to the strength and warmth of our community.
This event was not just a day out; it was a reflection of our journey this year, filled with growth, learning, and togetherness. We look forward to many more such gatherings, in sha Allah, as we continue to build on the foundation we’ve set this year.
